Sewing on formations:
You will need to sew the velcro backings for the RGS crest and Sea crest onto your blouse. Use only black or dark blue thread when sewing.

You will need to sew the velcro backings for the RGS crest and Sea crest onto your blouse. Use only black or dark blue thread when sewing.

- On the right sleeve (when you are wearing the blouse)
- Position it 3 fingers away from bottom of the shoulder lapel (the flap where you slot on your rank) and right beside the seam line of the sleeve
- On the left sleeve (when you are wearing the blouse)
- Position it 3 fingers away from bottom of the shoulder lapel (the flap where you slot on your rank) and beside the seam line of the sleeve
Waterproofing the RGS crest:
You will need to cover the RGS crest with plastic so it does not get wet at sea.

Sewing on sea badges:
As you progress in the year, you will start to obtain your 4 velcro sea badges. The velcro backings also need to be sewn onto the blouse.
When you obtain your first badge:
When you obtain each subsequent badge, you will have to reposition and resew the backings such that they are always centralized.
Also, take note that they should always be in this order:

- Position the backing directly above the left pocket (i.e. the pocket without your nametag above it)
- Centralize the backing such that it is in the middle of the pocket’s length
- Use only black or dark blue thread to sew it on.

Pinning on metal badges:
- As you progress in the year, you will also start obtaining your metal proficiency badges.

Iron lines:
Do note that your shirt should not have any visible iron lines, unlike your pants!
